STILL UNDISPUTED -

THE CINEMATIC STYLE OF MARTIAL ARTS AUTEUR ISAAC FLORENTINE

Isaac Florentine still remains one of the very few auteur filmmakers in the world of martial arts movies. His highly energetic cinematic style first was only praised by fans of the genre, but since his breakout film UNDISPUTED 2 Florentine is both recognized by critics and a wider mainstream audience. For this interview collection Florentine shared personal background stories and detailed information about all the projects he produced and/or directed throughout almost thirty years of independent filmmaking. Starting with his origins in Israel, his feature debut DESERT HAWK Florentine talks about how he cut his teeth as an (action-)director while working on the cult-favorite television series POWER RANGERS, early work as a martial arts coordinator and his way to becoming one of the regular directors for Avi Lerners production company Nu Image. Besides the conversations with the director himself, this publication includes the voices of many actors and key creatives who worked with Isaac Florentine during his career - among them Scott Adkins, Olivier Gruner, Brahim Achabbakhe, Mark Ivanir, Emilien De Falco, Irit Raz-McBride, Ross W. Clarkson, Steve Edwards, Gideon Porath, Bryan Genesse, David N. White and many more.

Including a foreword by german film critic Oliver Nöding, numerous pictures from private archives, and more than 200 stills and artworks, illustrating the unique and highly personal cinematic style of director Isaac Florentine.
